The Dark Reformation Part 11: What Is To Be Done?

“What are we doing tonight Brain?

The same thing we do every night Pinky.

Before we think about doing anything, we must ask: Why?

This is why:

1: The West has an irreparably flawed political system — democracy — unsecure power. Unsecure power leads to what Moldbug calls “friction” or uncertainty; uncertainty produces violence.
2: The governing philosophy or religion of the West is progressivism — a memetic descendent of Christianity — it is false — a flawed theory of human nature and an incoherent, unworkable and unsustainable theory of politics; it is, therefore, harmful to individuals, nations and, indeed, the world. It is an anti-life culture of death.
3: The people in the West are becoming less secure, less free, and less prosperous. Indeed, they are dying out — a genocide (genocide is a systematic attempt to eliminate a people and their culture in whole or in part) committed ultimately by progressivists.
4: A global war now exists between the progressive West and Islam. Furthermore, the progressive West V Russia and China are in a state of competition over the global “rules of the road.”
5: The ultimate cause is unsecure power and the false ideas (progressivism) that flourish as a consequence of the environment of unsecure power.
6: Time is running out. What needs to be done, needs to be done quick, indeed, the above analysis constitutes a global, existential catastrophic risk given the various disruptive technologies that will exacerbate the various problems.

1: Increasing instability — global, national and social.
2: Violence — terrorism, rapes, organised criminality, home invasions, assaults on police and soldiers, wars —will increase.
3: Oppression, discrimination, “heresy hunts” “Red Guard” SJWism will p. Politically motivated purges will increase. Political indoctrination, re-education camps, and gulags are the eventual destination. Christians, Jews and Atheists will be driven from Europe, then America then eliminated completely — by progressivists and Islamists. Then Islamists and Progressivists will fight it out for supremacy.
4: Crack downs on truth, information and freedom of thought, speech and word will increase.
5: Poverty, financial instability and economic inequality will increase.
6: Social trust, hope and optimism will decrease.
7: Political “extremism” will increase.
8: Communist totalitarianism is the probable end result —which will fail eventually. Thus, either Fascism will be the result or a gradual Islamic take over; or the West will be conquered or bought-out by China or Russia. These events will occur over the next 50 years — if they are not checked.
9: Massive human suffering because of violence and instability.
10: The extinction of the human race at worst (from a total war which will see the use of nuclear weapons), or a new dark ages at best.

This is the Why.

What, then, is the What — what is to be done?

1: Competent Secure Authority (CSA).
2: CSA for different groups — religious, secular, ethnic and multi-cultural.
3: Patchwork and a return to classical international relations.
4: A new overarching vision and purpose for humanity: Space Exploration and Colonisation.

If the task of 20th-century philosophy was to reckon with 20th-century history (Collingwood), then the task of 21st-century philosophy is to reckon with 21st-civilisation.

Reckon, rescue and restore.

Civilisation IS The Only Morality.

Civilisation Is The What.

Now for the How:

Our proximate goal, in order to achieve the Restoration in order to preserve civilisation, is power.

What is power?

Power is the ability to command and control.

Command is the legitimate position of giving orders.

Control is the actual ability to have one’s orders carried out.

There are six kinds of power:

1: Force.
2: Financial.
3: Legal.
4: Ideological.
5: Moral.
6: People power.

Ultimately, political power, as Mao said, comes from the barrel of the gun. However, all six types of power are necessary to govern; furthermore, all six interact and act as a force-multiplier: with power, as with money, you need it to make (more) of it.

Anyone, and any group wants as much power as necessary and possible.

Reactionaries, both secular and religious, have no power. They have lost consistently for hundreds of years. Within the West, traditional Christianity and Judaism will eventually, in all likelihood, be wiped out — ultimately by force and violence. Social, cultural and economic libertarians and other intellectual free-thinkers will eventually, again in all likelihood, be wiped out —unless things change.

Reactionaries have potent conceptual power, and if correctly leveraged — using rhetoric — they can acquire moral power. Questions of meta-ethics aside, I take morals as Hume did — that it is more “properly felt than judged.” Specifically, what I mean here is that people must be made to FEEL righteous indignation and anger at “injustice.” This leads to people-power. However, reactionaries need money. Their ideas are congenial to making money, and they should be able to obtain the financial backing of wealthy benefactors (more below.) Furthermore, reactionaries prize order. Thus, soldiers and the security services should find their ideology attractive. However, soldiers march on their stomach; thus, they need to be paid. Legal power is one that is the most intractable — because it is in the hands of the Cathedral progressivists with tremendous amounts of financial backing. However, if the other forms of power reach critical threshold (especially force power), then laws can simply be re-written.

The proximate goal then is power, and if one does not have power one requires strategy.

Firstly, we will briefly discuss the concept of strategy. Second, we will describe and outline Moldbug’s strategy (with some new wrinkles). Then, we will address some questions such as how to build the antiversity —which I will rename as Nous (mind or intelligence) — it has more gravitas because, alas, it is Greek.

Much of the following will, perhaps, not make much sense without being familiar with Moldbug’s final chapters of Gentle Introduction. You can read it here.

What is strategy? Strategy is the art and science of creating and using power for a purpose. Strategy, furthermore, can be characterised in two main ways.

The first is that strategy is simply a species of practical rationality. We want X and Y are the best way of achieving X; consequently, perform Y.
You begin with a goal. Next, you undertake a diagnosis or an analysis of the obstacles that prevent the goal from being achieved. The next step is the critical-creative process were methods, plans, policies are formulated in order to overcome the obstacles and achieve the goal. Methods and plans can be understood as a hypothesis that requires testing. The attitude should be, if possible, empirical and flexible. Particular, localised, strategies should be A-B tested (to steal an idea from business intelligence.) Finally, a strategy should issue in concrete actions. All actions must be consistent and coordinated. The pursuit of objectives can be approached in two ways. Firstly, a sequential way — A to B to C to D. Secondly, in a concurrent way —A, B and C are jointly undertaken. The choice, of either adopting a consecutive or concurrent approach, requires judgement according to circumstances.

The second way of approaching strategy is very different from the first. It, perhaps, could be called a more “Eastern” approach. Here, strategy is not so much about defining objectives, devising methods, and applying those methods directly in a linear fashion. This approach, in contrast, is more open, flexible and opportunistic. The goal is simply to maintain freedom of action. The goal is to avoid defeat, or weakening, and to gather strength. Finally, one strikes when the moment is right.

What approach should be adopted? Moldbug seems to recommend both types. For example, consider his Zen-like steel rule, and the building of The Plinth (Party).

In brief, what is Moldbug proposing? Think of it as regime change, a coup and a restoration (a corporate restructuring). The proposal is to capture and change USG’s Modern Structure to New Structure.

How this is to be done is either by a “true election” (a democratic coup) a military coup, or it may be done by incremental “take over” (Hans Herman Hoppe’s idea) of villages, towns and cities succeeding using insurance and private security. In addition, I want to add negotiations and persuasion; however, that is only possible from a position of strength — when one has leverage.

How is this all, in the simplest possible way, to be done?

Answer: we discredit the Modern Structure; meanwhile, at the same time, we build a replacement structure by gaining sufficient support from relevant and important people; then, we either receive power, seize power or negotiate a win-win solution — which is to have at least control of one city, state or country.

The Path Of The Dark Restoration

The Chess Grandmaster, Garry Kasparov, describes an approach to strategy which begins with starting with the end and then working back — step by step — to the starting position.

We will now reverse-engineer Moldbug’s “Procedure” — The Dark Restoration.

A: New Structure. (New Paradigm.)
B: Transition.
C: Reboot.
D: Campaigning.
E: Building The Plinth.
F: The Anti-Versity (Nous) is successful.
G: Building the Anti-Versity (Nous).
H: The Vow of Passivism.
I: Acceptance.
J: Understanding.
K: Conflict.
L: Contract.
M: Contamination
N: Construction.
O: Reaction.
P: Judgement.
Q: Analysis
R: Patterns.
S: Perceptions.
T: Modern Structure. (Old Paradigm.)

A-G is a collective effort to achieve a collective goal.

H is an individual commitment (one that should also be publicly declared and also in front of fellow reactionaries — a pledge of loyalty to one’s band of brothers.)

F-L is a description of a conversion process that an individual undergoes as they encounter and are thus “infected/immunised/decontaminated” by reactionary memes.

M-O is the process in which an individual and group constructing a “meme-bomb” a memeplexe that is designed to win the hearts and minds of a sufficient number of people in order to A: build the Anti-Versity (Nous); B: build The Plinth (Party); C: achieve the Restoration.

O-S is the individual person perceiving contradictions, ambiguities and mysteries that are unexplained by the Modern Structure’s memes; secondly, inquiring into this problem and perceiving a pattern to these problems; thirdly, after analysis, the individual reacts — they become a reactionary, they take the vow of Passivism and move to the next step —helping to build or deploy the “Meme-bomb.”

T is the “settled judgement” of modern society — the consensus; it is the “reflective equilibrium”. The Modern Structure is the Cathedral. It can now only decay and die. The Modern Structure holds the minds of many men and women in its control. However, an individual can accidentally escape, or be persuaded to escape.

T-H is a virtuous spiral — a cycle, a replication process. For example, Moldbug saw problems, analysed them and then became a reactionary as a result. He then constructed a meme-bomb — Unqualified Reservations (UR). UR “infected” myself because I too was perceiving problems and trying to resolve contradictions. But, if it is virtuous, then each cycle will result in larger and larger numbers of infected or “enlightened minds.”

Now, let’s describe each step of the Dark Restoration in a little more detail.

A: New Structure. (New Paradigm.)

The Restoration is complete. The new system is fully functional. Competent, secure authority is now in the hands of a single governor — who answers to a board of directors. The Plinth (Party), which brought about the Restoration, dismantles itself, or is dismantled. The anti-versity (Nous) remains to advise (not guide) the New Structure.

B: Transition.

The transition will involve martial law, the dismantling of the Cathedral, dealing with miscreants, withdrawing from the UN; installing a new political system, and then handing over that system to be run by the new managers.

C: Reboot.

The reboot is the process of taking or receiving power from the Modern Structure in order to transition to the New Structure. The reboot, in order of preference, is a democratically elected coup, a military coup, or by incremental succession.

D: Campaigning.

This stage, while still respecting the steel rule (not participating in democratic activism), is all about going on the offensive. Campaigning requires building coalitions while simultaneously destroying the respect, trust, and faith that people have in the Cathedral (the Modern Structure.) The Plinth deploys its meme-bombs, and its messengers charismatically spread its message. It wins the trust and alliance of greater numbers of the intellectual and financial elites, the middle classes and a good few lower class men and women; as well as, most especially, the military, police and security services.

It attacks (via memes), it keeps the pressure on —endlessly repeating its simple, strong and true message. It sets up confirmation bias: predicting disaster and doom and takes the credit when it happens. After every terror attack, every criminal outrage, every political act of corruption and stupidity — it is there, harping and crowing constantly. It seeks to put three emotions in people: fear, anger and hope. The Plinth alternatively and skilfully puts the first two emotions into people; but it always ends on the feeling of hope — and thus the people desire change (Obama this is not.) The Plinth, as a result, grows in popularity and credibility. But it waits, it always respects the steel rule, until the right moment comes. Probably, when a collapse (or some disaster) happens, or when sufficient anger and fear and desire for change has ripened, the moment will then be at hand. Once this pressure has built up sufficiently, the reboot occurs.

E: Building The Plinth.

The Plinth (Party) is constructed. From the start, The Plinth is designed to be a shadow government; it is designed to ultimately take power and then (let us not forget!) hand over power to a responsible formalist governance system. (See more below.)

F: The Anti-Versity (Nous) is successful.

Nous has now, over many years, amassed considerable credibility, trust and respect. It is formidable. It cannot be ignored, its seriousness, rigour, depth and breadth cannot be denied. It has converted significant numbers of the intellectual elite, the wealthy, and the middle-class to its doctrines. It is respected among the security, police and military institutions. Foreign governments pay close attention.

Ultimately, the result is a large, well-informed and growing number of people who want a Restoration.

G: Building the Anti-Versity (Nous).

In short, Nous is a replacement brain for the political system. It is a “truth service.” It is devoted only to what is true, what is good, and what is useful. It operates exactly like what the university is supposed to do.

H: The Vow of Passivism.

Moldbug’s steel rule. This is the pledge — the commitment. The individual now pledges himself to achieve the Restoration.

I: Acceptance.

The individual now understands and accepts. The meme has now been installed and the new software is now fully operational.

J: Understanding.

The meme has taken hold. The individual now reorders their web of memes, in order to understand what is true, what is good and what is useful.

K: Conflict.

The individual’s memeoimmume system fights the invader meme. The law of natural selection is operative here. Some individuals will be infected (vaccinated) and some won’t. Thus, mutations in the meme’s design must be undertaken in order to infect these individuals. In short, this stage is the arms race and the conflict for memetic supremacy.

L: Contract.

The individual contracts the meme(s) once the meme-bomb has been released into the memo-sphere. The beauty of the meme-bomb (and most memes in general) is that once the memes have been implanted into the mind they seek to infect others.

M: Contamination

The meme-bomb is built. The meme-bomb is designed for massive virulence (mass-market). It is constructed from three basic components. Ethos (character): the messenger and messengers must be credible, trustworthy and likeable to the audience. They must be acceptable, admired, approved and finally adored by the audience. The second component is pathos (emotions). The meme-bomb taps the most powerful of human emotions: fear, anger, and the desire for power, pleasure and prestige. On the one hand, people should be made to feel great fear and great anger; but on the other, hope and the faith that change is possible. The third component is logos (facts and logic). The meme-bomb is never wrong, it is always right. It is correct in its facts, and its logic is crisp, clear and simple. A bomb, such as this, is more powerful than plutonium. The messenger is trusted, admired and adored. The message resonates on a deep, emotional level and the message is true.

This meme-bomb is then released into the memo-sphere using any and all available means of transmission. All mediums, all methods, all means are to be used: speech, word, image, symbol, slogan, music, metaphor, clothing, art, entertainment, philosophy — everything is to be designed with the goal of transmitting the meme to man’s mind, where it will be implanted, take root and reorganise the web of memes that exist in each person’s mind. The bomb is designed for all humans -— everywhere. Changes in the meme’s “DNA” must be undertaken when deploying the bomb to each culture, each religion and each political system. The substance, however, is the same, it is a only the form and style that changes.

N: Construction.

Here we build the meme-bomb: the message —and the training of the messengers.

O: Design

The blueprint and A-B testing stage of the meme-bomb and messengers.

P: Research.

This research answers the following questions:

What is true?
What is good?
What is useful?
How best to persuade people of the true, the good and the useful?

Q: Analysis.

The task is to analyse the pattern of reality distortion (lies and falsehoods) and truth suppression that exists in the West as a consequence of the Cathedral. The choice is either that the systematic distortion of reality is either a result of being uninformed, misinformed, or it is a result of intentional lying. The true believers (among the progressivists) may believe, but the sociopaths — the movers and manipulators (within progressivism) — most certainly understand what they are doing.

R: Pattern Recognition of Problems.

The individual who has perceived a problem, a puzzle —now perceives a pattern. The pattern is the following: a series of interconnected contradictions between official reality as mandated by the Cathedral, and what the individual perceives with his own use of facts and logic. The pattern begins to look like systematic deceit — the truth is being hidden and suppressed. Once this pattern begins to take shape, the individual begins to doubt more and more; consequently, he looks for more instances of the pattern, and more and more he sees it. The question now is why? Why the lies and distortions?

S: Perception of Contradictions and Ambiguities.

The individual perceives or has pointed out to them, a contradiction or an ambiguity between “official reality” and reality as they see, read, hear or experience. The individual notices a wrinkle in the fabric of “official reality”. He has questions. He is puzzled.

T: Modern Structure. (Old Paradigm.)

This is what we have today: the Cathedral, democracy, the high-low alliance (the BDH V OV), the Islamic invasion, crime and disorder, social and moral breakdown, economic malaise; in short, decay, degradation and reality distortion. This is the triumph of the progressivists. There is very little left for the left to do — except hold onto power now. Nothing else is left except disappointment and the downward slide into disorder and decline for the progressives. This is the pre-revolutionary (Restoration) condition that we find ourselves in.

These are the milestones — the steps and stones— of the Dark Restoration.

The following will make use of David Perkins’ theory of knowledge, from his book Knowledge As Design. It contains three elements: Purpose, structure and argument. Purpose is the goal. The structure is the creation and coordination of different elements into a coherent shape that serves the purpose. Argument is twofold. Firstly, it must answer how each element is supposed to actually achieve the purpose. Secondly, the argument shows that the design actually works in practice.

What Is The Purpose Of Nous?

Nous has three purposes.

1: It studies Washington or Brussels (USG/EU.) It maps its decisions and traces the probable and actual consequences of these decisions. It builds a profile of the structure of Washington, the personnel and their functions. It studies Washington’s past, present and makes conjectures and predications regarding its future. (This is the public or formal purpose of Nous.)

2: Nous builds and advises The Plinth. Once The Plinth has taken power, Nous advises and guides the Plinth’s transition to New Structure. Then, once secure, responsible government has been created, Nous advises the New Structure. Nous is the mind of the New Structure. (This is the private or real purpose of Nous, which is to be a shadow government.)

3: Nous causes people to lose trust, faith and confidence in USG, progressivism and democracy. It does not make use of any persuasion or emotional appeals (that is the task of The Plinth), it operates purely on the basis of facts and logic.

That is the purpose of Nous. Now, let’s look at the structure.

What Is The Structure Of Nous?

Structure — the coordination of men, material, money and memes — in order to achieve a purpose is the next step in our design.

Nous is structured into three main departments: the descriptive, the normative and the prescriptive-practical.

A: Descriptive (USG/EU studies)
B: Normative. (What is actually true, good and useful?)
C: Prescriptive-Practical. (This involves building and advising The Plinth.)

Department A: Descriptive.

Simply put, the structure of Nous is simple: it is a complete mirror of USG. It would have (as far as possible and necessary) a complete matching of USG structure.

It would have a President, a Vice-President, a cabinet, a civil service department and a Joint Chiefs department etc. Remember, the purpose of Nous is to study USG and be a shadow government in waiting.

We want men and women who are A: highly intelligent and theoretically capable. B: Experienced (ex-USG apostates perhaps) in the areas they research.

Department B: Normative.

This department resembles a university. It will have as many departments that are necessary to study some relevant question. I call this section normative, but it is concerned with the three basics: truth, goodness and usefulness. Below is a broad idea of the various sub-departments.

1: Philosophy.

A: Metaphysics. (Human nature is the prime study here.)
B: Epistemology and Logic.
C: Ethics.
D: Political Philosophy.
E: Aesthetics.

2: Political, Social, Cultural, Technological, Economic and Military History of USG.

Some study questions:

How did Washington conquer the world?

How did it all go wrong?

What were/are the mistakes of USG?

3: Political And Economic Science.

A: Problems.
B: Solutions.
C: Consequences of USG policies.

Departments A and B, however, are to have shadow groups. For example, for any question there should be two or more independent, non-overlapping teams working on the question. These teams will then complete their report to a judge or judges. The judge will then study their reports. If there is no contradiction between the two teams in their claims then well and good. If not, then the teams will need to be brought together to argue. Further research and investigation may then be required. The process repeats until harmony is established, or, if this is not possible, the judge will then have to make a preliminary judgement. This judgement can, of course, be studied and revised by a further group or groups somewhere down the line.

The purpose of this set up is to A: avoid group think. B: promote competition which leads to innovation. C: promote truth.

Department C: Plinth Construction.

This structure is the (dark) mirror of Department A. However, while Department A studies USG, Department C is the actual shadow government. It should be structured and operated according to what it would be if it had power. Department C is structured as follows:

1: CEO.
2: Board Of Directors.
3: Shareholders.
4: Employees.

This is the structure of Nous and The Plinth.

3: Argument

The first argument is explanatory. It explains how the structure serves the purpose. The second argument is evidence that the design actually works.

Remember, our goal is A: study USG. B: report its mistakes and failures, lies and deceits. C: cause sufficient numbers of relevant and influential people to lose trust and confidence in USG. D: take power. E: transition to New Structure.

Department A studies USG and reports.

Department B studies and reports on problems that the theoretical New Structure would need to solve and how it would solve them if it had power, and followed the advice of Nous.

Department C seeks to undermine the trust, confidence and faith that people have in USG (and the Cathedral); build coalitions; finally, take power. In addition, it would be beneficial if Department C had actual experience in operating and managing territory and people.

That is the explanatory argument.

As for the empirical argument, or argument that demonstrates that the structure actually works, well, to quote Marx: “the proof of the pudding, is in the eating.” There is no actual evidence yet, it is all theoretical. The best that can be done is A: rely on the work of books and bloggers at the moment and then the work of Nous. B: point to Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai. C: showcase the successful examples of corporate governance and the private sector more generally.

A Note On Leadership Schools.

One idea, that I think needs to be well considered long before the reboot is both the training and the selection mechanism (see next instalment) of the sovereign. Let’s consider leadership training.

What kind of education, what kind of knowledge would a sovereign require?

To begin with, we can divide knowledge into three categories: theoretical, practical and moral or ethical.

Theoretical knowledge and theoretical reasoning is knowing and reasoning concerning facts and logic, principles, theories, concepts, causes, numbers and systems. It is concerned with truth, knowledge, and understanding. Here are some areas a sovereign would require education in:

1: Philosophy.
2: History.
3: Economics.
4: Theology (in order to understand the beliefs, values and desires of people.)
5: Technology. This will involve the history, development, consequences, trends, patterns and potential future of technology.
6: War and strategy.

Practical knowledge and reasoning is concerned with action and achieving some goal.

1: Leading and managing people.
2: Reading, writing and speaking. The ability to analyse, evaluate, judge and communicate effectively with people.
3: Negotiations.
4: Persuasion.
5: Foreign languages.
6: Branding and marketing.
7: Accounting.
8: Whatever else a sovereign would need to do the job.

Ethical Knowledge, Virtues And Habits.

This third category combines the first and second. Ethics requires knowing ethical principles and an ability to reason, but ultimately it is practical; ethics in the sense of mastering one’s emotions and remaining self-disciplined, responsible and rational and treating other people ethically.

To develop the necessary habits and virtues, it requires a life-long process of habituation; preferably started early. Furthermore, it requires role models to imitate and learn from. This is why I stated, as Catholics, Communists and Islamists would also, that that control of education is so important to the production of virtuous men and women.

That’s it.

Now, how do we build Nous?

Nous will require three things: Men, Money and Materials.

Nous will require, above all, intellectuals. old masters, old hands, as well as young, promising, intellectuals and scholars. It will also need scholars who defect or convert from the Cathedral; nevertheless, it will also need to train their own scholars.

Nous will also need secretaries, aides and assistants.

If Nous or a subsidiary corporation moves into the private sphere (as I have outlined below) it will need an army of many different kinds of employees, and staff to manage and train them.
Money. (Profit strategies for Nous).

1: Fees and Donations.

A: Fees from supporters and donations from sympathisers.
B: Donations and contributions from foreign governments (Russia, China, Dubai?)
C: Donations from entrepreneurs, CEO’s and other pro-enterprise and pro-libertarian individuals.
D: Donations from religious groups (Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Mormons, Muslims, Hindus.)

(Clearly, there will need to be a firewall between the donations from external groups and the research. The reason why, say, Russia and China may wish to finance Nous is because reactionaries, unlike progressives, are not interested in fighting a clash of civilisations or engaging in Cathedral cultural imperialism against them.)

2: Profits from the Nous Academy.

(Nous should aim to provide education that is not only better but cheaper than a University in a relevant subject to reaction. Fees will be required, or some other kind of remuneration. Furthermore, I believe a market exists for private education in general. Education is absolutely central to reactionary project because of the pervasive reality distortions and mind control that exist. Also, from a public relations point of view, by offering people a necessary service, it will increase reactionaries’ public reputation.)

E: Course Fees.

F: Fees from book sales and speaking tours. (Nous should aim to establish a roster of alternative “superstar” intellectuals (like a Pinker, Dawkins, Hitchens and Ferguson.) These intellectuals will make money from writing and speaking. Part of which will be ploughed back into Nous.

G: Debate fees. Stage dramatic debates. Build them up, create hyperbole and seek to take on the best of the Cathedral.

H: Produce high-quality documentaries, interviews, conferences, and instruction materials and make profits from them.

3: Profits from Private Enterprise.

(The following, are not only profitable, but they would provide opportunities to gain real management experience; furthermore, many of them are socially necessary and so would raise the profile of reaction.)

I: Real Estate. (Good training for managing territories. Furthermore, real estate can be combined with insurance, security, education and healthcare, in short, a community (see below)).

J: Stocks. (Would it be possible to possibly identify, recruit, train and employ savants and other neuroatypicals to make tremendous amounts of money for Nous? Also, we should loo at employing software programs to better make market predictions.)

K: Home and personal insurance combined with private security (See Hans Herman Hoppe’s book The Private Production Of Defence.) (Combine with I.))

L: Private medical technology and private health care. (Emerging technologies — genetic engineering, nootropics and other novel technologies, medicines and practices — could be researched, developed and utilised — for a price.)

M: Adult education and self-improvement. ( Here are some ideas: masculine self-improvement (Western men are too weak); rationality, fitness, self-defence; verbal reasoning; basic strategy; legal awareness (for men to avoid “divorce rape,” and politically correct auto-da-fé). Family values (Is it not reasonable to say that some people need parenting courses?); technology and computing; sales, marketing, branding, persuasion, and Game.) In essence, we need to teach forbidden, politically incorrect, but practical knowledge.

N: Law firm. We should consider creating a law firm which protects Nous. Also, the purpose of the law firm could be that it takes on cases where individuals, families, and businesses are threatened by government and progressive “Red Guards.”

O: Private Prisons. (Private prisons can house and, if possible, reform the miscreants that the private security firms arrest.)

P: Human investment and apprenticeships. (This idea is inspired by Moldbug.) Investors enter into a contract with an individual. The investor spends money, time and effort in the attempt to make the individual successful — and profitable — thus gaining a return on investment. The individual gains knowledge, skills and experience plus coaching and management and finally —dignity and independence. However, such a practice could be used to recruit and train new reactionaries; for example, training them to be lawyers or security personnel.

Q: Entertainment. (Drugs, sex, and games (virtual and real). Of course, this is subject to law. However, these are extremely lucrative enterprises, and it fits in with the whole general libertarian ethos of some of reaction (it would also be very attractive and popular with the young — thus gaining cool, and “Bad Boy” points.)

R: Media. (Trust in the Cathedral is getting low, and will naturally decrease. People need reliable news and reporting — especially about threats. A tremendous opportunity exists here for reactionaries to capitalise upon. Furthermore, media is necessary to promote reactionary messages.

S: Fashion arts and literature. (Moldbug mentions a trend that he saw where young people were wearing Edwardian fashion. I know little (or care) about fashion, but is it possible that using fashion could not only turn a profit but help establish a brand? I think so. Perhaps, this would be a good area for female and homosexual reactionaries to work in. Arts and literature are, of course, vital in promoting reactionary memes and messages. As society shifts to more and more politically correct art, there will, surely, exist a market for dangerous, dark and edgy stuff.)

T: Technology. (Investing in new technology and profiting from it, should definitely be on the agenda.)

Buildings: (Campus, schools, research offices, laboratories, offices, gyms, academies, apartments (for employees, but also safe houses — just in case. Furthermore, we should consider disaster bunkers and disaster zone safe areas (In case of catastrophic risks.))

Technology and Equipment: ((Computers, internet, communication equipment, crypto-currency. Books and papers. Sundries.) (For the corporate wing: medical supplies; food and weapons (in case a “midget war” breaks out.); uniforms; energy (batteries and fuel.))

Transportation. (Cars, bikes, boats and aircraft.)

These are just a few, non-exhaustive, ideas regarding men, money and materials.

Summary And Conclusion

What Should Be Our Priorities?

As of this moment, there is only one thing to do:

Build Nous.

The first step is to build Nous. This requires:

A: A headquarters — virtual and physical.
B: A command structure. (See department A, B and C above.)
C: A “Canon” of facts and logic.
D: Once these three things are achieved, then a “marketing” (meme-bomb) department is necessary.
E: Infiltrate and contaminate as many minds as possible.
F: Grow.
G: Rile the masses, persuade the soldiers, gain the backing of money, and put the enemy on the run.
H: Take Power.

At the moment, nothing like Nous exists. The Hestia Society and Social Matter is a nucleus. However, there is no clear command and departmental structure. There is no clear “Canon” of facts and logic presented in a textbook style (in fairness, this requires Nous.) Of course, there are various reactionary “reading lists”. However, this needs to emerge from Nous and Nous members themselves. They must have the stamp of Authority.

In order to build Nous, men, money and materials are required. So, it seems like a vicious circle. Without three MMMs there is Nous; without Nous there is no MMMs.

As Moldbug writes, the problem is one of “coordination”.

Therefore, someone and some group needs to coordinate. Someone and some group needs to simply assert themselves, create Nous and convince others to join. In response, someone and some other group, will attempt to do the same. Competition will lead to innovation and improvement; furthermore, the competing groups will either merge together or not.

In the next section we will look at the New Structure: Neo-Royalism.

The Dark Reformation Part 10: The Clash Of Memes And the Making Of A New World Disorder

Samuel Huntington claimed that if the conflicts of 20th century revolved around ideology, then the conflicts of the 21st century will revolve around culture.

Huntington (a Harvard professor alas) wrote his masterpiece The Clash Of Civilisations And The Remaking Of World Order in the early nineties — more than twenty years ago — and events since that time seem to have borne out his central claim rather well.

The political scientist, Christopher Coker recently gave a talk asking if Huntington was right? (

Coker largely seems to think so. In his view, he has “never see the world more divided” —by culture. The West is the dominant but declining power, Russia is a resentful, angry, challenger. According to Coker, Russia (Putin) articulates that the West has no values, and if it does it does not defend them. Russia, meanwhile, claims that it is the responsible power that defends civilised values: Orthodox Christianity, stability, order and moral values. China is a rising power, one whose full intentions and ambitions are only starting to become clear. Coker mentions that a growing intellectual movement (cultural nativism) — a “first in history”— in China claims that Chinese culture and language can only be understood by people born into it and who speak it as their first language. Thus Chinese culture is distinct and, to use a phrase from Thomas Kuhn, “incommensurable” with other cultures (a canny memetic defence!) Finally, Coker mentions that ISIS is the first group in modern history to reject modernity.

Mencius Moldbug wrote (somewhere in his voluminous output) that once Europe had separated into “Athenian” and the “Spartan” virtues the stage for conflict was set and resulting tragedy (the deaths of tens of millions of people) was inevitable.

World War 4

Norman Podhoretz, one of the founders of neoconservatism, once claimed that the struggle between the West and Islam is, in fact, WW4. (

Naturally, this begs the question of what was WW3. Podhoretz claimed that the struggle between the capitalist, democratic and liberal West and the Communist world was WW3.

What, however, is war?

Clausewitz claimed that war is a struggle, like a duel, or a wrestling match. War is one group trying to impose its will upon another group. A duel or a wrestling match need not involve lethal violence, and war need not be either violent or lethal. Sun Tzu claimed that all warfare is deception and that the best way to win was to win without fighting. Clausewitz claimed that (modern and Western) war is an extension of politics. Mao flipped that claim and stated that politics is a continuation of war.

Thus, there is economic, legal, intellectual and moral warfare.

The link between modern warfare and political ends, however, are assumed as given. In the past, this was not true, but it is today. Today, warfare must have (even if it’s only for show) a moral purpose.

The ultimate object of modern warfare is to control people’s minds. Mind control is executed via command and control of the ideological production, distribution and supply centres.

Moldbug calls this system “repeaters.” A “repeater” is a church, a university, or a media outlet that “repeats” a message — a meme.

In Consider Phlebas, a science fiction novel written in the eighties is a story that intentionally mirrors the cultural conflict between the West and Islam, the denouement (spoiler!) involves the Culture’s (West) AI taking command and control of the Iridian’s (Islam) computer system — its repeater.

At the end of WW2, when Nazi Germany was conquered, the Allies had command and control of the country, the people, and the system — the Allies undertook “Denazification.” The universities, schools, newspapers were cleansed of all Nazi’s and Nazi ideas. The political system of Nazism was dismantled and a new system was installed.

Nazi memes were eliminated and the meme’s method of reproduction was neutered.

The same was executed in conquered Japan. The same was attempted in Iraq, but it failed.

Modern war is over the “rules of the road.” — the values, visions, and fundamentals of political, legal, economic, educational and moral systems.

World War 4, however, is not simply a conflict between the West and Islam. Two other players are in the game: Russia and China.

Here are the players of WW4:

1: Harvard (The West, the “headquarters” of the Cathedral.)

2: Mecca (Islam.)

3: Kremlin (Russia.)

4: Zhongnanhai (China.)

The West and Islam ( memeplexes) are committed (a better word would be determined by their memetic programming) to world domination. Russia and China have expressed no such ambition (yet), and may never do so. Russia and China, as of this moment, are interested in only maintaining their sovereignty from Western attack (memetic infiltration and subversion). Islam, however, is engaged in a struggle for world supremacy against the West and the rest. “Cthulhu swims slow, but he only swims left.” Allah dances fast and furiously — but he only dances right.

Harvard’s grand strategy against Mecca is, as it does with most of its enemies, is absorption, digestion and excretion. In essence, it eats its enemies. Harvard’s strategy is to divide and conquer. First, create a self-imposed distinction of “moderate” and “radical” Islam. Co-opt the “moderate” wing and then either eliminate, marginalise or ignore the “radical” wing. The end is that Islam becomes, essentially, Unitarianism. Harvard’s strategy is feminine. It seduces Muslims (marginal and oppressed Muslims — women, gays, atheists, intellectuals and artists) with promises of power, wealth, prestige and equality and freedom. Furthermore, it is feminine because it provokes the ‘males” of both cultures to fight each other.

In Larry Niven’s science fiction novel Ringworld, a war is engineered by an alien race to cull another Alien race of its more aggressive members — using the humans as a cat’s paw. The aggressive members die in combat and thus do not reproduce and pass on their aggressive genes. While this strategy was planned, I believe Harvard’s strategy is more “Darwinian” in the sense that it is (largely) unplanned.

Mecca’s strategy, in contrast, is conquest and submission. Its strategy is therefore masculine. Violence and fear are its primary instruments. Harvard seduces, Mecca eliminates or intimidates.

The struggle between Harvard and Mecca is the most epic and consequential war in human history.

If it was a straight fight between Harvard and Mecca, Harvard would be the likely winner (given the balance of power.) However, the presence of two other players changes the dynamics of the conflict.

Kremlin is an active challenger and open opponent of Harvard. Hai, however, is still (somewhat) practicing the Deng Xiaoping principle which is to “hide your brightness.” Though, recent events in the South China Sea indicate that Hai is becoming more assertive.

So, we have three power centres that are not under Harvard’s control, two of which actively oppose Harvard.

The key issue is what if all three powers align against Harvard?

Christopher Coker claims that the strategic nightmare for the West (Harvard) would be an alliance between Kremlin and Hai. It is true that Kremlin and Hai have grown closer in recent years. If Harvard keeps pushing Kremlin and Hai, then their alliance will only deepen.

The real kick, however, would be if these two powers began to leverage Mecca against Harvard.

Harvard and Mecca are ultimately engaged in the propagation of memes. Progressivism and Islam are missionary religions which seek converts and conquests. The other two powers, however, have developed immunity (so far, because of the Communist disaster) from Western progressive memes; but they must keep adapting to attempts by Harvard to infiltrate and infect their “repeaters” — their churches, universities and media outlets.

So, this is the world in 2016. These are the centres of powers. These are the players.

A global Hobbesian state of nature.
